I brought back a few of these interesting raw rubies. They have triangular shapes formed by lines in them. They are called record keepers. Something like the rings in a tree, they can tell a lot about the stone. Ruby is the birthstone for July. It is also known as the stone of nobility.
It is set simply in sterling silver and on an 18" chain. It is about the size of a dime.
